A new social experience for an established Perth golf course
Whaleback Golf Course is a long-established public golf facility in Parkwood, Western Australia, operated by the City of Canning.
GT Images was commissioned to create a series of architectural visualisations for the refurbishment and redevelopment of the existing clubhouse, restaurant and bar areas, together with the transformation of the driving range.
The project represented more than a physical upgrade. The new design repositioned Whaleback as a broader leisure and hospitality destination, creating spaces where golf, dining and social activity could come together within the existing course setting.
Project at a glance
Our visualisation work focused on communicating the experience of the renewed Whaleback Golf Course before construction was complete.
The imagery needed to clearly represent the architecture and proposed finishes while also showing how the spaces would actually be used. Rather than presenting empty architectural environments, we developed the scenes around people: golfers using the new driving range, groups meeting over food and drinks, and visitors enjoying the refurbished clubhouse and outdoor areas.
Particular attention was given to the relationship between the architecture and the established landscape. Warm natural materials, open-air hospitality spaces, filtered sunlight and views across the course were used to create a relaxed Western Australian character while maintaining an accurate representation of the proposed design.
The resulting collection moves between intimate views of the restaurant and bar, active driving range bays and wider architectural views that show the scale of the redevelopment within the golf course.
